Regular Season Round 17: A1 Challenge - UCU Ladies 34-69

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: UCU Ladies (#2) and A1 Challenge (#8). A1 Challenge was crushed at home by 35 points 34-69 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. UCU Ladies held A1 Challenge to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.7 percent accuracy of the winners. UCU Ladies forced 35 A1 Challenge turnovers and outrebounded them 53-26 including a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Rose Akon (-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Agatha Kamwada (-2000) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds. Sandra Wangeshi responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and guard Patience Nakalembe (-1995) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. A1 Challenge's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. UCU Ladies (14-4) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place having four points less than leader JKL Dolphins, which they share with KIU Rangers. A1 Challenge lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Nabisunsa.
