Regular Season Round 20: UCU Canons - Falcons 73-45

Everything went according to plan when third ranked UCU Canons (17-5) outplayed bottom-ranked Falcons (0-24) in Kampala 73-45 on Saturday. UCU Canons held Falcons to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.3 percent accuracy of the winners. UCU Canons forced 19 Falcons turnovers and outrebounded them 55-35 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by guard Jerry Kayanga (-1997) who scored that evening 9 points and 8 rebounds and Jimmy Otim (-1999) supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. UCU Canons' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds by Kenneth Mesho did not help to save the game for Falcons. Emmanuel Ateng added 16 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. UCU Canons have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-5 record having just three points less than leader Blazers. Loser Falcons still closes the standings. UCU Canons will meet Tropical R. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Falcons will have a break next round.
