Regular Season Round 19: Victoria USY - Blazers 60-108

Very predictable result when second ranked Blazers (17-4) outscored on the road 12th ranked Victoria USY (5-18) 108-60 on Saturday. Blazers dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria USY's 28. Blazers forced 34 Victoria USY turnovers and outrebounded them 56-33 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Victoria USY's players. It was a great evening for center Daniel Monoja (197-1993) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all sixteen shots !!!). Chuol Nyuot helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. Blazers' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Brian Oyoo responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and Maker Mayen scored 13 points and 4 assists. Five Blazers and four Victoria USY players scored in double figures. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Blazers. They maintain second place with 17-4 record behind leader City Oilers. Victoria USY lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Blazers will meet at home Tropical R. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Victoria USY will play against Ndejje Angels in Kampala and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
