Regular Season Round 19: UPDF - KIU Titans 66-74

The biggest surprise of round 19 was guest KIU Titans' (#5) road victory over UPDF (#6) 74-66 on Wednesday evening. They outrebounded UPDF 56-33 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kenyan center Fidel Odur Okoth (203-1996) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Chuma Joseph chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds. Four KIU Titans players scored in double figures. KIU Titans' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Jonathan Egau (190-1993) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward David Opolot (-1989) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. KIU Titans (14-9) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain fifth place. UPDF at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. KIU Titans' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Our Saviour.
