Regular Season Round 15: Magic Stormers - UCU Ladies 62-82

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Kampala: UCU Ladies (#2) and Magic Stormers (#6). Magic Stormers were crushed at home by 20 points 62-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. UCU Ladies looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Magic Stormers' players. It was a great evening for Bridget Aber (-2001) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Maimuna Nabbosa (-1999) helped adding 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Diana Letaru with 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Christine Nakito scored 2 points and 21 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UCU Ladies have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-4 record having four points less than leader JKL Dolphins, which they share with KCCA Leopards. Loser Magic Stormers keep the sixth position with nine games lost. UCU Ladies' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena A1 Challenge.
