Regular Season Round 14: JKL Dolphins - Miracle 91-53

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#1) and Miracle (#7). JKL Dolphins (16-0) smashed visiting Miracle (6-9) by 38 points 91-53. JKL Dolphins held Miracle to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.9 percent accuracy of the winners. JKL Dolphins forced 20 Miracle turnovers and outrebounded them 64-42 including a 44-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Miracle's players. Kenyan center Taudencia Oluoch (189-1995, college: ACU) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 22 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Brenda Ekone (152-1996) chipped in 33 points (!!!) during the contest. Forward Barbara Namukaaya responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Kush Nakazzi scored 16 points. JKL Dolphins have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-0 record. Newly promoted Miracle keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. JKL Dolphins' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Nkumba LM.
