Regular Season Round 13: A1 Challenge - JKL Dolphins 40-70

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#1) and A1 Challenge (#8). A1 Challenge was crushed at home by 30 points 40-70 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. JKL Dolphins held A1 Challenge to an opponent 16.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.9 percent accuracy of the winners. JKL Dolphins forced 21 A1 Challenge turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Brenda Ekone (152-1996) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. The former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Irene Eyau answered with 7 points and 22 rebounds and Kekimuli Cathy added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for A1 Challenge. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JKL Dolphins (15-0) have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 15 victories in a row. A1 Challenge lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. JKL Dolphins' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Miracle.
