Regular Season Round 14: Falcons - Tropical R. 65-71

Bottom-ranked Falcons is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 17th consecutive match to tenth ranked Tropical R. (6-11) 71-65 on Sunday evening. Tropical R. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Falcons' 32. Tropical R. forced 23 Falcons turnovers and outrebounded them 64-43 including a 30-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Isaac Katumba notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and Duallo Joshua supported him with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Tropical R.'s coach used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds by Kenneth Mesho did not help to save the game for Falcons. Swingman Henrison Mbaziira added 13 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Tropical R. maintains tenth position with 6-11 record. Loser Falcons still closes the standings. Tropical R. will meet at home league's leader UCU Canons in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Falcons will have a break next round.
