Regular Season Round 12: KCCA Leopards - Magic Stormers 50-39

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: KCCA Leopards (#2) and Magic Stormers (#5). KCCA Leopards (11-3) won against visiting Magic Stormers (6-8) 50-39. KCCA Leopards held Magic Stormers to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.6 percent accuracy of the winners. KCCA Leopards forced 25 Magic Stormers turnovers. It was a good game for the former international center Martha Soigi (185-1986) who led her team to a victory with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Ruth Atuheire (-1994) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Christine Nakito replied with 6 points and 15 rebounds and forward Aja Kul Aguti added 8 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Magic Stormers. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KCCA Leopards maintains second position with 11-3 record having just one point less than leader JKL Dolphins. Magic Stormers at the other side dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. KCCA Leopards' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena JKL Dolphins.
