Very expected game in Kampala where 6th ranked Angels (5-6) were defeated by second ranked KCCA Leopards (9-2) 62-44 on Sunday. KCCA Leopards held Angels to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.5 percent accuracy of the winners. KCCA Leopards forced 19 Angels turnovers and had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Martha Soigi (185-1986) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and guard Leticia Awor (-1996) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Ruth Kirungi (-1994) with 10 points and 8 rebounds and Catherine Amugusut (-1983) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KCCA Leopards have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record having just two point less than leader JKL Dolphins. Loser Angels keep the sixth position with six games lost.
