Regular Season Round 11: UPDF - Victoria USY 52-51

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Victoria USY (2-11) was edged by fifth ranked UPDF (8-6) in Kampala 52-51 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. UPDF forced 30 Victoria USY turnovers and had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Michael Kojjo who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman David Okello (-1997) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. UPDF's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Maker Mayen came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Mambo Kabuya added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Victoria USY in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for UPDF. They maintain fifth place with 8-6 record, which they share with KCCA P. Newly promoted Victoria USY keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. UPDF's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Our Saviour.
