Regular Season Round 6: Magic Stormers - KIU Rangers 48-54

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala: KIU Rangers (#2) and Magic Stormers (#5). Magic Stormers were defeated at home 48-54 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. KIU Rangers forced 28 Magic Stormers turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Ines Kanyamunza who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) accounted for 5 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. KIU Rangers' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Diana Letaru came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Shila Lamunu added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Magic Stormers in the defeat. KIU Rangers maintains second place with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader JKL Dolphins. Loser Magic Stormers keep the fifth position with three games lost. KIU Rangers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Angels.
