Regular Season Round 6: UCU Ladies - A1 Challenge 90-53

Very predictable result when fourth ranked UCU Ladies (6-2) rolled over 9th ranked A1 Challenge (1-7) in Kampala 90-53 on Sunday. UCU Ladies dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to A1 Challenge's 28. UCU Ladies forced 20 A1 Challenge turnovers and outrebounded them 57-33 including a 40-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Rose Akon (-2000) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Guard Tracy Namugosa accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Four UCU Ladies players scored in double figures. Forward Lilly Mwimba (-1998) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds and Sandra Wangeshi added 15 points respectively for A1 Challenge in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UCU Ladies moved-up to third place. Loser A1 Challenge keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
