We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Kampala where ninth ranked Tropical R. (4-6) defeated 8th ranked KIU Titans (3-4) 87-73 on Saturday. Tropical R. forced 23 KIU Titans turnovers and had a 42-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Denis Omara who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Allan Nandala helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Tropical R. players scored in double figures. Tropical R.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Okoth Henry responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Mohammed Abdikani scored 3 points and 17 rebounds. Newly promoted Tropical R. maintains ninth place with 4-6 record. Loser KIU Titans dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Tropical R. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KIU Titans will play against Blazers (#5) and hope to secure a win.
