Regular Season Round 7: Our Saviour - UCU Canons 52-70

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: UCU Canons (#1) and Our Saviour (#6). Our Saviour was crushed at home by 18 points 52-70 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Our Saviour. UCU Canons held Our Saviour to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Worth to mention a great performance of center Peter Sifuma (-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Jerry Kayanga (-1997) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Forward Stephen Wokorach answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Moses Mugisha (-1984) added 4 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Our Saviour. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UCU Canons have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Newly promoted Our Saviour keeps the sixth position with three games lost. UCU Canons' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala .
