Regular Season Round 4: UPDF - UCU Canons 60-61

Important game to mention about took place in Kampala. Top-ranked UCU Canons (5-0) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked UPDF (3-2) 61-60 on Friday evening. UCU Canons forced 24 UPDF turnovers. The winners were led by center Peter Sifuma (-1996) who scored that evening 13 points and 9 rebounds and Lwabaga Ibanda (-1998) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 13 points and 9 rebounds by forward Benard Okumu (-1986) did not help to save the game for UPDF. Arthur Wanyoto added 15 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. UCU Canons have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. UPDF at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with JKL Dolphins and Blazers. UCU Canons will play against bottom-ranked Victoria USY (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. UPDF will play against the league's second-placed Betway Power (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
