Nueva Era landed BAL Elite 16 ticket as they won over Espoir 66-64. Trailing 10 points at the end f the first period, the team from Equatorial Guinea replied with an 18-13 run in the second period and dominated the end of the game. Mandrell Worthy (191-SG-1996, college: Azusa Pacific) top-scored for the winners with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists. Juan Ndong collected 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, whilst Deonta Terrell (193-G-1992, college: A&M-Commerce) contributed 12 points, 6 rebounds. Andy Darel and Tracey Minko (2001) replied with 14 points each in a loss.
