Round 21 in D1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Beniane where host USAB (11-10) beat league's leader AGSC (19-2) 54-46 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of AGSC. USAB maintains seventh place with 11-10 record. AGSC at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by HDM who have the same record. AGSC will play next round against RCB trying to make it back to the top of the standings. USAB will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked MCA in Alger.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked HDM as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (AGSC) loss. HDM defeated 4th placed MTS in Hussein Dey 44-39. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of MTS. HDM (19-2) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with AGSC. MTS at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. MTS will play next round against CRAM trying to get back on the winning streak. HDM will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked JFK at Alger.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Alger. Local USMA (18-3) outscored 12th ranked EEIA (4-16) 71-32 on Friday night. USMA maintains third place with 18-3 record behind leader HDM. EEIA lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. USMA will meet NBS (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. EEIA will play against RCBBA (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Other games of round 21 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
NBS defeated CRAM in Staoueli 47-34. RCBBA was smashed by FSS at home 46-69. MCA won against WRAB on the opponent's court 58-47. Bottom-ranked RCB was outscored by JFK in a home game 43-66.
CRAM - NBS 34-47There was no surprise in Ali Mendjli where 13th ranked
