Egypt seal the Quarterfinal berth at the 2013 AfroBasket. They overcame Algeria 72:62 and finished Group A with a 2-3 record. Algeria ended up on the fifth place in the group with 1-4 record.
Algeria and Egypt entered the game with the same 1-3 record and needed just a win to advance to the Quarterfinals. They both scored 9 points each in the first period and then Egypt posted 22-16 rally for 6-point advantage at the halftime. Egypt added 26-21 run in the third period and did not mind 15-16 in the last stanza.
Reem Osama (170-PG-93) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Menatalla Awad (G-91) notched 15. Hagar Amer (184-F-93) poured in 13, whilst Aliaa Gamal (83) and Dina Amr (172-G-93) netted 7 each. Nesrine Taibi (88) ended up with 21 points and 10 rebounds in defeat, while Nadia Isli (83) posted 11. Rachida Belaidi (79) scored 9 and Sofia Saidani (92) notched 7.
