Ivory Coast won over Algeria in Day 1 of the 2013 AfroBasket. They posted a 56:48 in Group A campaign.
Ivory Coast won the first period 9:7 and added a 15-8 run in the second period. Algeria dominated the third period and managed to erupt with a 22-14 rally to reduce to just 1 point at the end of thirty minutes. Ivory Coast however needed an 18-11 surge in the last stanza for the first victory. Kariata Diaby (95) brought the final points for the winners.
