Mali outscored Morocco to enter the semifinal stage in Tunisia. Sidy Toure (2007) was pivotal with 27 points for the winners. Morocco posted a 40-37 halftime lead. But Mali responded with a strong 27-17 run in the third period to eke out the lead. Morocco got within striking distance late in the game but Mali hung on to avoid the loss. Sekou Bagayoko (2008) posted 15 points for the winners. Rayane Solhi (2007) answered with 23 points for Morocco.
Ivory Coast - Guinea 43-106
Guinea cruised past Ivory Coast to advance into semis. They dominated from start to finish in this one. Guinea built a 59-31 halftime advantage. They held Ivory Coast to just 12 points in the second half and raced to the win. Karanmadi Gassama (2007) posted 22 points in the victory. Amadou Bah (2007) answered with 16 points for Ivory Coast.
Chad - Angola 74-86
Angola outscored Chad to secure the semifinal stage. Angola posted a 21-14 lead after ten minutes. They followed with a 27-19 run in the third term to clear off for a 15-pooint lead at the final break. Graciano N'Thonia (2007) posted 24 points, while Garcia Kabemba (2007) added 18 points for Angola. Mahamat Ousmane (2008) answered with 23 points and 15 rebounds for Chad.
Rwanda - Egypt 78-94
Egypt knocked down Rwanda to stay in the title race in Tunisia. Rwanda led by two points after ten minutes. But Egypt used a 27-12 run in the second stanza to gain a 47-34 halftime lead. Egypt dropped 26 points in the fourth stanza and raced to the victory. Omar Soudy (208-C-2007) tallied 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Rami Malek (194-PF-2008) added 14 points for Egypt. Kenrik Kabano (2008) answered with 21 points for Rwanda.
