Chad - Ivory Coast 59-46
Chad held off Ivory Coast for 1-0 record at the championship. Chad eked out a 19-18 halftime lead. They followed with a decisive 23-7 run in the third term to clear off for good. Mbafe Abdel-Kerim (05) stepped up with 17 points for Chad. Christ Haoule (192-F-05) replied with 18 points and 12 rebounds for Ivory Coast.

Algeria - Egypt 53-72
Egypt coasted past Algeria behind 14 points from Adam Elhalawany (190-SF-05). Egypt established a 42-23 halftime lead. They stretched the margin at 24-point mark at the final break and marched to the win. Alieeldeen Eldiasty (184-SG-05) had 12 points for the winning side. Zakariya Khodja (182-G-05) replied with 14 points for Algeria.

Uganda - Mali 25-103
Mali cruised past Uganda for the second straight win in Cairo. Mali recorded a massive 64-12 halftime lead and cruised to the victory in the second half. Malick Diallo (05) posted 32 points and 17 rebounds, while Abdoul Keita (06) added 10 points and 23 rebounds for the winners. Emmanuel Omara (05) responded with 9 points for Uganda.
