Egypt smashed Uganda to improve at 2-0 record atop of the ladder. Egypt used a massive 37-0 run in the first period to clear off for good. Alieeldeen Eldiasty (184-SG-05) produced 22 points for the winners. Selim Elselmy (188-SG-05) added 18 points in the victory. Clarence Mayengo (05) responded with 17 points for Uganda.

Mali - Gabon 137-47
Mali registered opening win in Cairo. They stormed past Gabon for 1-0 record in Group A. Six players scored in double digits for Mali. Malick Diallo (05) came up with 28 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Ibrahim Doumbia (06) added 20 points and 9 assists for Mali. Leny Simba (169-G-06) answered with 12 points for Gabon.
