Egypt - Mali 66-57
Egypt claimed the title in Cape Verde. They beat Mali for the trophy. Moamen Abouzeid (186-G-03) scored 19 points to lead the winners. Mali posted an 18:10 lead after ten minutes. Egypt responded though with a 20:9 rally to take a 30:27 halftime lead. Egypt followed with a 22:13 surge in the third quarter to boost the margin at 12-point mark. Mali held Egypt to just 14 points in the final stanza but could not save the game. Ahmed Rehan (193-F-03) nailed 13 points for the champions. Haroune Toure (03) replied with 13 points, while Souleymane Dembele (03) tossed in 12 points for Mali.
3-4 Place
Guinea - Nigeria 53-54
Nigeria nipped Guinea to step onto the pedestal in Cape Verde. Bormini Dennis (183-PG-04) produced 14 points to carry Nigeria to the Bronze medals. Guinea and Nigeria were tied at 23 after two periods. Guinea jumped to a 3-point lead at the final break. Nigeria though fired 20 points in the fourth term to snatch the win. Rueben Chinyelu (203-F-03) had 10 points and 20 rebounds for Nigeria. Abdoulaye Donzo (03) answered with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Guinea.
5-6 Place
Rwanda - Tunisia 78-53
Rwanda finished in the fifth place at the tournament. They overcame Tunisia behind 25 points and 14 rebounds from Kevin Ishema (03). Rwanda piled up a 27:19 halftime lead. Rwanda unloaded 32 points in the fourth term to run away with the victory. Pacifique Mutabazi (03) had 16 points for Rwanda. Mohamed Tarhouni (03) replied with 21 points for Tunisia.
7-8 Place
Angola - Cape Verde 80-54
Angola outscored Cape Verde to earn the seventh position at the tournament. Angola claimed a 42:25 halftime advantage. They held Cape Verde to only 29 points in the second half and secured the winning outcome. Valdemar Avelino (176-SG-03) posted 17 points and 9 rebounds, while Joshua Texeira (186-C-03) added 15 points for Angola. Fabrizio Caetano (03) notched 15 points for Cape Verde.
