Angola - Guinea 54-77
Guinea advanced into the semifinal stage in Cape Verde. They topped Angola in the quarterfinal battle on Friday. Guinea dominated from start to finish. They established a 42:20 halftime lead and protected well throughout the second half. Abdoulaye Donzo (03) posted 21 points, while Ibrahima Diallo (170-PG-04) added 19 points for Guinea. Carlos Soares (190-F-03) replied with 11 points for Angola.
Tunisia - Nigeria 36-86
Nigeria stormed past Tunisia to enter the semifinal stage. Nigeria set the tone early as they posted a 24:9 lead ten minutes into the game. They went on a 45:17 run in the second half to ease to the victory. Joy Ighovodija notched 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Farouk Isah (180-SG-04) added 17 points for Nigeria. Mohamed Tarhouni (03) answered with 12 points for Tunisia.
Cape Verde - Mali 41-61
Mali rolled past Cape Verde to pave their way into the semifinal stage. Mali registered a 38:17 halftime lead. Cape Verde managed to slow their opponents down in the second half but could not avoid the loss. Boubacar Keita (04) produced 10 points, while Abdramane Kanoute (04) had 9 points for the winners. Hugo Silva (03) replied with 13 points and 13 rebounds for Cape Verde.
Rwanda - Egypt 51-78
Egypt cruised past Rwanda in the quarterfinal clash. Egypt built a 34:22 halftime lead. Egypt sank 44 points in the second half and raced to the victory. Abdullah Ahmed (205-C-03) provided 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Karim Abouseria (196-SF-03) and Ahmed Rehan (193-F-03) tossed in 11 points each for the winners. Kevin Ishema (03) and Romain Kizito (03) answered with 11 points each for Rwanda.
