Angola - Cape Verde 69-56
Angola toppled Cape Verde to improve at 2-2 record in Group A. Fabio Antonio (172-PG-03) scored 22 points to lead the winners. Angola recorded a 40:34 halftime lead. They maintained the lead throughout the second half and raced to the win. Valdemar Avelino (176-SG-03) contributed 14 points for the winners. Hugo Silva (03) replied with 25 points for Cape Verde.
Nigeria - Algeria 75-64
Nigeria outscored Algeria to gain the third win in Group A. Nigeria registered a 39:23 halftime advantage. Algeria narrowed the deficit in the second half but could not avoid the loss. James Okemirie provided 19 points and 18 rebounds, while Farouk Isah (180-SG-04) added 17 points in the victory. Ilian Nessaibia (184-SG-03) replied with 18 points for Algeria.
Group B
Tunisia - Rwanda 88-75
Tunisia fired past Rwanda to register the second win in Cape Verde. Tunisia grabbed a 49:30 halftime advantage. Rwanda pulled within 13 points at the final break but Tunisia sank 25 points in the fourth stanza and rallied to the win. Mohamed Tarhouni (03) notched 24 points, 10 rebounds, 7 steals and 6 assists for the winners. Hamza Mahjoubi (03) delivered 23 points for Tunisia. Dick Sano (04) answered with 20 points and 13 rebounds for Rwanda.
Guinea - Mali 48-54
Mali dropped Guinea to stay perfect in Group B. Mali led by a single point at the big break 23:22. But they went on a 13:9 run in the fourth stanza to ice the win. Boubacar Keita (04) notched 13 points, while Abdramane Kanoute (04) added 10 points for Mali. Ibrahima Diallo (170-PG-04) replied with 15 points for Guinea.
