Angola - Nigeria 57-90
Nigeria outgunned Angola to improve at 2-1 record. Nigeria posted a 46:23 halftime lead. They followed with a 44:34 second half run to seal the win. Farouk Isah (180-SG-04) scored 27 points, while Rueben Chinyelu (203-F-03) added 13 points and 24 rebounds for the winners. Valdemar Avelino (176-SG-03) replied with 14 points for Angola.

Egypt - Algeria 75-51
Egypt stormed past Algeria to earn the fourth straight victory. They overcame Algeria behind 13 points from Moamen Abouzeid (186-G-03). Egypt registered a 35:23 halftime lead. They outscored Algeria in the next two periods and raced to the win. Ibrahim Mohamed (186-G-03) and Belal Elshakery (195-F-04) contributed 11 points each for Egypt. Mohand Ammad (193-F-03) replied with 17 points for Algeria.

Group B

Rwanda - Mali 40-70
Mali outscored Rwanda to celebrate the third consecutive victory in Group B. Mali posted a 32:17 halftime advantage. Mali followed with a strong 24:8 rally in the fourth quarter to race to the victory. Brehima Traore (03) tallied 19 points, while Abdramane Kanoute (04) added 15 points for the winning side. Dick Sano (04) answered with 10 points for Rwanda.

Tunisia - Ivory Coast 59-56
Tunisia topped Ivory Coast to earn the first win at the tournament. Hamza Mahjoubi (03) notched 23 points and 9 rebounds for Tunisia. Ivory Coast eked out a 29:28 halftime lead. But Tunisia managed to surge ahead in the second half and snatched the victory. Mohamed Tarhouni (03) had 14 points for Tunisia. Assemian Moulare (03) answered with 23 points for Ivory Coast.
