Group AMauritius - Mali 23-165Mali captured the third consecutive victory in Mauritius. They crushed the hosts to remain undefeated. Siriman Kanoute (01) posted 50 points and 11 steals for the winners. Mali established a 85:15 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Oumar Ballo (204-C-02) accounted for 20 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Daniel Sandian responded with 5 points for Mauritius. Mozambique - Tunisia 60-67 3OT Tunisia survived a triple-overtime thriller to beat Mozambique for 2-1 record in Group A. Faiez Ghomrassi (01) posted 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Tunisia secured a 28:22 halftime lead. Mozambique erased the deficit in the third term and forced overtime eventually. Tunisia managed to get away with the win only in the third extra period. Wajih Chebbi (01) tossed in 15 points for the winners. Ndzengo Buvana (01) responded with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Mozambique. Group BEgypt - Algeria 84-61Egypt remained undefeated in Group B. They cruised past Algeria for the third straight win. Momen Hassan (01) tossed in 21 points and grabbed 9 boards for the winners. Egypt claimed a 36:28 halftime lead. They poured in 48 points in the second half to ease to the win. Mazen Ibrahim (01) topscored with 24 points for the winners. Ouail Gadaoui (01) replied with 17 points and 6 steals for Algeria. Madagascar - Rwanda 95-87 Madagascar opened win count in Group B. They toppled Rwanda for 1-2 record. Marco Rakotovao (01) tossed in 34 points for the winning side. Rwanda accumulated a 47:42 halftime advantage. But Madagascar turned things around in the third term. They ignited a 26:13 run to surge ahead and protected the lead throughout the final quarter. Edito Tsarafeno (01) accounted for 15 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in the win. Thierry Nkundwa responded with 30 points and 15 rebounds for Rwanda. |
