Group ATunisia - Mauritius 83-20Tunisia overcame Mauritius for the opening victory in Group A. Mohamed Mnafedh (01) came up with 18 points to lead the charge. Tunisia accumulated a 35:6 halftime lead. They kept the hosts at bay throughout the second half and marched to an easy victory. Bouraoui Gahbiche (01) notched 15 points for the winners. Nevish Doorghen (02) responded with 10 points and 7 boards for Mauritius. Mali - Mozambique 108-51 Mali recorded the second straight win in Mauritius. They edged Mozambique to remain undefeated. Fousseny Dieng (01) provided 19 points to lead the winners. Mali silenced their opponents in the first half. They went on a 58:16 run to clear off for good. Fousseyni Traore (02) had 16 points and 10 boards in the victory. Angelo Macie (01) responded with 9 points for Mozambique. Group BAlgeria - Madagascar 60-59Algeria nipped Madagascar to remain perfect in Group B action. Amir Bouzidi (01) stepped up with 14 points and 9 boards for the winners. Algeria accumulated a 29:22 halftime lead. Madagascar went on a strong comeback rally in the second half but stopped just short of victory. Ouail Gadaoui (01) chipped in 13 points for the winners. Marco Rakotovao (01) and Olivier Jaoravo (01) replied with 12 points apiece for Madagascar. Rwanda - Egypt 45-101 Egypt ensured the second straight win in Group B. They stormed past Rwanda behind 17 points from Momen Hassan (01). Egypt built a 51:24 halftime advantage. They limited Rwanda to just 21 points in the second half and rolled to the victory. Aly Khalifa (201-F-01) and Omar Morsy (01) accounted for 12 points each in the win. Jean Umuhoza (01) responded with 13 points and 7 steals for Rwanda. |
