Egypt crowned champions in Bamako

Mali - Egypt 63-64
Egypt earned the title in Bamako. They toppled hosting Mali in the Final tonight. Mohamed Youssef sank a free throw with five seconds remaining in regulation and sealed the triumph for Egypt. They jumped to a 12:6 lead after the opening quarter. Mali narrowed the gap in the second frame. They pulled within four points at the interval 19:23. Egypt maintained the lead throughout the third term. The visitors entered the fourth quarter up by four points 38:34. Mali denied the deficit in the fourth term. Abdoul Coulibaly tied things up at 63 with 9 seconds remaining. But Mohamed Youssef hit a free throw and Egypt celebrated the title. Ahmed Khalaf (206-F/C-99) posted 16 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Esam Mostafa, Taref Raafat and Mohamed Ramadan delivered 9 points each for the winners. Moulaye Sissoko responded with 16 points and 16 rebounds for Mali. Abdoul Coulibaly netted 14 points for the losing side.
3-4 Place
Algeria - Angola 45-37
Algeria earned the Bronze medals in Bamako. They outgunned Angola in the consolation final. Mostefa Braik stepped up with 19 points to lead the winners. Algeria opened a 16:5 lead after ten minutes. Angola cut the deficit at 2-point mark at the final intermission. But Algeria went on an 11:6 run in the fourth frame to ice the win. Mohamed Cheblaoui delivered 8 points for the winners. Rifen Fernandes answered wtih 15 points and 10 rebounds for Angola.

5-6 Place
Morocco - Nigeria 53-65
Nigeria earned the fifth position at the championship. They defeated Morocco in the classification clash. Owen Oriakhi stepped up with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nigeria built a 26:19 halftime lead. They stayed in front throughout the second half and rallied to the win. Chukwumene Nwigwe had 15 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Sami Al Uariachi answered with 20 points for Morocco.

7-8 Place
South Africa - Tunisia 67-76
Tunisia finished their campaign with a comfortable victory over South Africa. Oussama Marnaoui scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Tunisia to the 7th position. Tunisia registered a 38:30 halftime lead. The gap grew at 19-point mark at the final intermission and coasted to the win. Mohamed Jammali netted 22 points in the victory. Clinton Meela responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds for South Africa.
