Mali and Egypt to clash for title in Bamako

SEMIFINALS
Mali - Algeria 65-39
Mali cruised past Algeria to reach Final in Bamako. Abdoul Coulibaly scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Mali. The hosts tipped off the game on a 26:3 run in the first period. They maintained the lead throughout the next quarters and marched to the victory. Moulaye Sissoko recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Mostefa Braik responded with 9 points for Algeria.

Angola - Egypt 51-74
Egypt clinched the Final appearance in Bamako. They stormed past Angola in the opening semifinal clash. Ahmed Khalaf (206-F/C-99) tallied 17 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Egypt surged ahead for a 46:28 halftime lead. Egypt held Angola to just 23 opints in the second half and coasted to the victory. Taref Raafat netted 17 points in the win. Rifen Fernandes responded with 19 points for Angola.
5-8 Place
Nigeria - Tunisia 56-49
Nigeria outgunned Tunisia in the classification round clash in Bamako today. Isiaka Ajadi posted 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Tunisia and Nigeria were tied at 26 at the interval. Tunisia pulled ahead for a 2-point lead at the final intermission. However Nigeria used a strong 17:8 run in the fourth quarter and snatched the victory. Chukwumene Nwigwe accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Mohamed Jammali responded with 10 points for Tunisia.

Morocco - South Africa 60-49
Morocco recorded victory over South Africa in the classification round. Sami Al Uariachi stepped up with 29 points to pace the winners. South Africa eked out a 27:25 halftime lead. But Morocco turned things around in the second half. They went on a 35:22 second half rally to seal the victory. Mohammed Chaoui had 10 points for the winners. Kuhle Ntshele responded with 14 points for South Africa.

9-10 Place
Rwanda - Equatorial Guinea 73-56
Rwanda claimed the ninth overall position at the championship. They knocked down Equatorial Guinea in the final game at the tournament. Patrick Nshizirungu and Arnaud Nkusi scored 15 points each for the winners. Rwanda jumped to a 20:7 lead after the opening frame. Equatorial Guinea narrowed the distance at 7-point mark at the final break. But Rwanda unloaded 31 points in the fourth quarter and sealed the victory. Enoch Kisa had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Angel Esuba responded with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 steals for Equatorial Guinea.
