Mali - Egypt 77-75 Mali recorded the fifth straight victory in Bamaka. The hosts held off Egypt in the clash of two undefeated teams. Lassana Haidara stepped up with 20 points as Mali earned the top position in Group A. Mali used an 18:9 run in the third term to clear off for good. Abdoul Coulibaly delivered 17 points and 10 rebounds for Mali. Taref Raafat responded with 17 points for Egypt.
Equatorial Guinea - Algeria 48-90 Algeria cruised past Equatorial Guinea to finish at 3-2 record in Group A. Ahmed Houari and Mostefa Braik delivered 24 points each for the winners. Algeria piled up a comfortable 49:12 halftime lead. They controlled the tempo throughout the second half and rolled to the win. Lofti Ramoul had 16 points for the winners. Vicente Bualo responded with 13 points for Equatorial Guinea.
Nigeria - Rwanda 72-68 Nigeria celebrated a crucial win at the Group Stage. They held off Rwanda to seal their quarterfinal appearance. Isiaka Ajadi stepped up with 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Rwanda secured a 32:28 halftime lead. They boosted the gap at 5-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. But Nigeria went on a 22:13 run in the final period to seal the win. Chukwumene Nwigwe and Faruq Benire tossed in 12 points each for the winners. Patrick Nshizirungu responded with 16 points for Rwanda.
Group B
Angola - Tunisia 84-69 Angola dropped Tunisia to stay undefeated. Glofate Buiamba nailed 30 points and pulled down 8 rebounds to lead the Angolan youngsters. Angola recorded a 40:30 halftime lead. They boosted the margin at 24-point mark at the final intermission and cruised to the win. Dideltino Eduardo finished with 10 points for Angola. Tarek Sohail responded with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Tunisia.
Morocco - South Africa 68-73 South African recorded the second victory in Group B. They toppled Morocco to occupy the second position. Morocco registered a 55:53 lead heading into the fourth quarter. But South African used a 20:13 rally in the final period to avoid the defeat. Yanick Ter stepped up with 19 points for South Africa. Sicelo Dzingwa had 12 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Sami Al Uariachi responded with 20 points for Morocco.
