RSB wins maiden national basketball cup - Jun 27, 2012

The men of Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) won their maiden national basketball cup Monday defeating Wydad de Casablanca 67-65 in the return leg of the final.

RSB had defeated Wydad last week in the away leg on the same score.

The runner-ups, Wydad have won the cup 9 times: 1965, 1966, 1967, 1975, 1976, 1982, 1983, 1985, and 2000.

As De Sale Are Throne Cup Champions for 4th Consecutive Year - May 15, 2012

Morocco's Top club over the last few years, As de Sale, has continued their dominant winning form. ASS just clinched their 4th consecutive Morocco Throne Cup with a 66-59 hard fought victory over Renaissance Berkane in the Throne Cup Final. It is also the 6th Throne Cup Championship title in the last 8 years for ASS with prior victories in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

As de Sale, in addition, just became the regular season champion of Morocco with a 16-2 final record. Berkane was also the runners-up of the regular season with a 14-4 record followed by WAC Casablanca who finished the season in 3rd pace with a 12-6 final record.

The 1st playoff round is under way in Morocco now with the top 6 teams advancing. Group A matches As de Sale, Maghreb de Fez & Sports Plaza Casablanca while Group B has WAC Casablanca, CRA Hoceima & Renaissance Berkane.
