Bottom-rankedGahini (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-44 loss to second ranked APR (5-2) in Kigali. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gahini 's 26. APR forced 33 Gahini turnovers. The former international point guard Marie Imanizabayo (-1996) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Charlotte Umugwaneza (195-1984) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five APR players scored in double figures. Aline Uwimana replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and Angelique Umutoni added 13 points in the effort for Gahini. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. APR maintains second position with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader REG. Gahini at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
