The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Cairo:Al Ahly (#1) and Al Gezira (#7). Al Ahly (11-0) crushed visiting Al Gezira (5-6) by 18 points 93-75 . It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al Gezira. Al Ahly dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Al Gezira 's 36. Al Ahly forced 22 Al Gezira turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Al Gezira 's players. The former international power forward Raneem Elgedawy (193-1997, college: WKU) stepped up and scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Nadine Salawi chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals. At the losing side Sara Khaled responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Radwa Sherif (184-1998) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Al Ahly and five Al Gezira players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al Ahly have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record, which they share with NBEC. Al Gezira at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost.
