This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to third ranked Alexandria (10-1) 84-64 on Tuesday evening. Alexandria dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to New Giza 's 42. Alexandria forced 19 New Giza turnovers and outrebounded them 52-23 including a 24-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Alexandria looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Hagar Amer (184-1993) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Nouralla Abdelalim (184-1997) supported her with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Alexandria players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Tamia Lawhorne (186-2001, college: Marshall) did not help to save the game for New Giza . The former international power forward Ganna Marouf (185-1998) added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alexandria have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-1 record having just one point less than leader Al Ahly. Loser New Giza still closes the standings with nine games lost.
