JBC lands Tyjhai Byers, ex FAP

Tyjhai Byers

JBC (HBA) has signed Tyjhai Byers, a 25-year-old American center who stands at 211cm. Byers played college basketball at ECSU. He most recently played for Forces Armees et Police Basketball de Yaounde in the Cameroonian D1 league. In the 2021-22 season of the Basketball Africa League, he averaged 4.9ppg, 5.6rpg, and 1.4bpg in 8 games, helping his team reach the semifinals. Last summer, he had a trial with Vaqueros in the Mexican league and also played for Erebuni in the Armenian league.
He has previously played professionally in Mexico for the Potros and in the ECBL for the Hub City Hogs. In 2022, he won the Cameroonian League championship title.
He had previously attended one of the camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to professional basketball.
He graduated from Elizabeth City State University in 2020, and this will be his fourth season in professional basketball. He also played for Morgan State University for two years.
