Dijon signs Vitalis Chikoko

Vitalis Chikoko

JDA Dijon Bourgogne (Betclic ELITE ProA) signed 32-year old Zimbabwean international power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208cm-1991) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Chikoko is the second import player in the roster as USA Cameron Hunt signed here earlier.
He has played for the last two seasons at Pau-Lacq-Orthez. In 31 Betclic ELITE ProA games in France he had 14.4ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1bpg last season. 2022-23 was a great year as he was named to Eurobasket.com French ProA All-Imports Team, League Player of the Week and Eurobasket.com All-French ProA Second Team.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
He also represented Zimbabwe at the Afrobasket Championship in Rades (Tunisia) eight years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 13.4ppg, Reb-4 (8.8rpg), 1.2apg, Blocks-1 (3.2bpg), FGP: 48.8%, 3PT: 20.0%, FT: 64.7%.
Chikoko has played also professionally in Germany (Gladiators, BG Goettingen, Bayern Muenchen and ASC 46 Goettingen) and Italy (Reggio Emilia and Verona). He was voted to French ProA All-Star Game back in 2019 and 2020.
His team won French Cup in 2022.
