Levallois keep Chikoko for another season

Vitalis Chikoko

Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans (Jeep ELITE ProA) re-signed 29-year old Zimbabwean international power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91). He was a team leader there last season. In 25 French Jeep ELITE ProA games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.4ppg, 7.1rpg, 2.2apg and 2.0bpg. Chikoko helped them to make it to the French Leaders Cup Semifinals. Great season indeed as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-French ProA Player of the Year, Eurobasket.com All-French ProA Cotonou Player of the Year and Center of the Year.
The previous (18-19) season he played at Pau Lacq Orthez (also in French Jeep ELITE ProA) where in 36 games he averaged remarkable 15.1ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2bpg. A very good season in his career as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-French ProA Forward of the Year and voted to All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (2 times).
Chikoko has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
Chikoko also represented Zimbabwe at the Afrobasket Championships in Rades (Tunisia) five years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 13.4ppg, Reb-4 (8.8rpg), 1.2apg, Blocks-1 (3.2bpg), FGP: 48.8%, 3PT: 20.0%, FT: 64.7%.
Chikoko has played previously professionally in Germany (Gladiators, BG Goettingen, Bayern Muenchen and ASC 46 Goettingen) and Italy (Grissin Bon RE and Verona).
His team made it to the German Bundesliga Semifinals in 2016.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A talented, lanky forward/center who has a huge upside. Even stanging almost 6-10, he can spend yet time at the PF position, thanks to enormous athletic skills, versatility, and good feel for the game. His long arms allow him to be a good defender and shot blocker.
