Madagascar beat Zimbabwe 74-57 in Zone 6-7 AfroBasket Qualification. The latter exploded with a 17-6 surge at the start, but could not win the game. Madagascar replied with a 27-7 burst in the second frame and took full control of the game. They closed the opener with a 21-12 run to seal the victory.
Rija Lahontan (172-PG-92) top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Livio Ratianarivo (96) notched 17. Elly Randriamampionona (198-F-96) poured in 15, whilst Francis Ramanampamonjy Mory scored 7. Benson Nyatanga answered with 13 points in a loss and Everisto Pasipamire (205-C-94) brought 12.
