Kyoto Hannaryz (B League) inked 27-year old Zimbabwean power forward Julian Mavunga (203-116kg-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) from Shiga L-Stars. In 60 B League games in Japan he was third best scorer with impressive 19.5ppg and recorded 8.1rpg and 3.5apg last season. A very good year in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B League Honorable Mention.
Mavunga has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
Among other achievements he won Balkan League championship title in 2015. Mavunga received also NABC Division I All-District 14 1st Team award back in 2012 at his college time. Mavunga was a member of Zimbabwean Senior National Team two years ago.
He is a very experienced player. Mavunga has played also professionally in Israel (Ironi Nahariya), Italy (Angelico Biella), Kosovo (Sigal Prishtina), Ukraine (Hoverla) and NBA G League (Maine Red Claws).
He attended Miami University, Ohio until 2012 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
