Ivory Coast edge Zimbabwe in Maputo at the 2013 AfroBasket. Ivory Coast finished Group A with 3-2 record and advanced to the Quarterfinals. Zimbabwe remained winless at the tournament and dropped at 0-5 record.
Ivory Coast started the game with a 16-13 run and added massive 24-11 surge in the second period. Zimbabwe managed to win the third period 13-10, but could not come closer to the opponents. Ivory Coast needed a 16-13 rally in the last stanza for the final result.
Kany Kouyate (178-F-90) and Fatou Diabate (182-F-75) stepped up with 14 points and Aminata Fofana (190-C-86) nailed 13. Mamiky Cisse (180-F-91) followed them with 10 points in a win. Fadzai Mabasa (170-F/G-83) and Sharon Chamwarura (SG-93) finished the game with 13 points apiece. Dorcas Marondera (PF-90) produced 11 and Margaret Magwaro (168-PG-83) shot 7.
