Mozambique thrash Zimbabwe in the postponed game of the first round in 2013 AfroBasket. Mozambique celebrated an easy 117:28 win for 2-0 record.
Mozambique opened the game with a 35-12 surge and added 32-6 run in the second frame. The board showed 67:18 at the end of the second period when it was clear about the winner. Mozambique did not slow down in the rest of the game and posted two more comfortable victories in the second half as well. They won the third period 29-7 and finished the game with a 21-13 surge.
Anabela Cossa (172-G-86) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Rute Muianga (175-F-83) nailed 18. Clarisse Machanguana (195-C-76, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: ODU) produced 14, whilst Deolinda Ngulela (170-G-81, college: Augusta St.) collected 13 points and 13 assists and Leia Dongue (185-F/C-91) had 12. Dorcas Marondera (PF-90) answered with 12 points in defeat and Sharon Chamwarura (SG-93) notched 8.
