week 21 updates- February 12, 2009In the women's league two games will be on the radar namely the Highdon Raiderz-Glen Norah Pistons game on Saturday and the Stanbic Mavericks-Highdon Raiderz on Sunday at Richwood. Highdon Raiderz need at least 1 of the 2 games to stay in the top 4. The Glen Norah Pistons game is more winnable but Stanbic Mavericks are no longer the team they used to be and maybe both games could be there for the taking. Highdon Raiderz Fiona Mukukula will need to rally her troops in these two decisive encounters and their biggest enemy might be fatigue as both Glen Norah Pistons and Stanbic Mavericks do run. Glen Norah Pistons coach Forward Mandizadza seemed to be having issues with some of his star players and his benching them last weekend against lowly UZ Stars might just have been the medicine he needed to shake them up. Yolanda Matayataya will be crucial for Glen Norah Pistons this weekend but has to bring a positive attitude and less tantrums. Stanbic Mavericks coach Spencer Nyamadzawo has his work cut out for him to put a decent 5 players on the court. He cannot have Margaret Magwaro (168-G-83) who is in university in RSA but should be able to call upon Regina Chisale (171-F-82), Avril Mhembere and Tino Mushapaidze have to show as Mitchell Mutomba, Dorcas Marondera and Ellen Chikoto had a torrid time against JBC last weekend. |
