Mali thrashes Zimbabwe on Day 4 of All-Africa Games

Mali cruised past Zimbabwe on Day 4 of All-Africa Games in Algeria. It was the first win for mali team at the tournament. An aggressive offense from Mali left virtually no chances for Zimbabwe team. They did not manege to prevent the attacking basketball from Mali and had to fight back a 25:15 gap after the opening frame. Mali however never slowed down and posted another 26 points in the second quarter to ensure a 51:29 advantage at halftime. They actually did not give up a single frame and easily secured another victory at the tournament. Aminata Sininta (185-C-85) paced mali with 29 points and 21 rebounds. Adama Sissoko (-91) added 20 points and 14 boards for the winners.
Fadzai Mabasa (170-G-83) produced 18 points in a losing effort. Ailexandra Maseko (183-C-89) delivered 12 points for Zimbabwe. Mali outrebounded Zimbabwe 50:38 and shot more accurately from the field 55%. Zimbabwe also struggled from free throw line converting just 51%.
Mali takes on Nigeria today. Zimbabwe meanwhile fell to 0-4 record and will battle Tunisia later tonight.

Zimbabwe: Fadzai Mabasa 18, Ailexandra Maseko 12.
