TABLE leaders in the feminine division of the Zambia Dairy Processors Association southern region league, Lusaka City Council Lootresses consolidated consolidate their position with a valuable 83 – 65 win over Green Buffaloes in a week 23 fixture played at the weekend. The game played at the University of Zambia Great East Road campus sports hall was a minute by minute thriller with Lootresses showing more hunger for glory than their opponents. Lootresses kept hitting the Zambia army sponsored side harder with each passing quarter, scoring 15 – 16 in the first,23 – 11 in the second and a blowing 38 – 15 in the third phase. Former Under – 20 international Rutendo Bobo was not only Lootresses top scorer but of the match as well with a season high 25 points. Bobo’s captain Elina Zulu netted 18 points as runner up top scorer. In the other feminine match home side UNZA Honeys failed to impress their home crowd when they lost 42 – 85 to the Shells. Honeys have not won a single match this season and it looks like they will end the season that way when the curtains close on 26 November. In the masculine division Green Buffaloes kept to their winning ways by clipping Green Eagles wings 86 – 65 to maintain their position on the top of the table. Defending champions National Pension Scheme Authority Hurricanes had to put up a fourth quarter fight back to beat a determined Hawks 75 – 67 in a match that could have gone either way. And in the days closing fixture UNZA Pacers failed to take advantage of the home support losing 58 – 70 to a well coordinated Heroes Play United.
