Nets loose to Buffaloes and LCC.
After maintaining an 8 point lead in the first quarter of the Zambia Basketball Association league table, the Nets started the second quarter on a bad not. Firstly Losing Lily Kananda to Unza Honies and Tara Nyikavaranda to LCC, the Nets team has been straggling to in terms of man power also having their two point guards working out of town.
With Coach Allan Shawa undergoing a Coaching course in Hungary for three months the team is now assisted by their old Coach Jamal Atkins who is a player for the heroes, a team also coached by Allan Shawa.
During the Buffaloes game played on the 5th of September the team only had six players and lost the game by 10 points but Nets recorded their second league loss which pushed them on the second slot of the league table. And Last week on the 19th of September 2008 champions lost to their rival LCC with only exactly 5 players played the game including Magunhu Nhova (now team skipper) Mildred Chinkumbi, Cecilia Munemo, Debrah Chikalekale and Mutale Mfungo. Worse came to worse when their only power forward Cecilia Munemo got injured in the fourth quarter of the game, the team finished the game with only four players. The Nets lost with a final score of 47- 62.
Nets play the Rim Oilers on the 26th of September 2009 at the National Sports Development Center.
