Nets Crowed 2008 National Champions

After beating the arch rivals Shells in the final game by 7 points, the Nets women Basketball team was crowned as the 2008 Zambia Basketball Association National Champions. On the mens side the Lusaka City Council sponsored team Looters carried the day after beating the Sprite Champions, Green Eagles.

After the wonderful performance from the Nets, seven players from the team were selected for the Zambia National Basketball team for the forth coming Zone XI games in Zimbabwe early this march. From the team, the following were selected, Tara Nyikavaranda, Magunhu Nhova, Audrey Mulenga, Lily Kananda, Maggie Mwape, Rita Njobvu and Debrah Chikalekale.

Unfortunately the female National will not be able to take part in the tournament because of short notice.

The ZBA season remains closed till early April 2009.
