Mark Opiyo
Mark Opiyo (G-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best WARRIORSWAR and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 28-year old guard had the game-high 23 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Warriors in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Our Saviour (#12, 0-11) with 48-point margin 88-40. Warriors maintains the 2nd position in Ugandan NBL. They are still close to the very top. Warriors would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 9-2 record. In the team's last game Opiyo had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Warriors, through which he has constantly improved. Mark Opiyo averages this season 12.7ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was guard Jerry Kayanga (G) of league's best team UCU CANONSUCU. Kayanga impressed basketball fans with 27 points and 5 rebounds. Of course he led UCU Canons to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Kampala (#11, 2-9) 82-49. Of course UCU Canons still keep the league's top spot. His team belongs to top of the standings with 10-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Kayanga is one of the most experienced players at UCU Canons and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another WARRIORSWAR's star - Samad Imran (F-93). Imran scored 14 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Warriors, helping his team with a 88-40 easy win against Our Saviour (#12, 0-11). Warriors is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 9-2 record is not that bad... Imran has a very solid season. In 11 games in Uganda he scored 6.3ppg.

NBL Round 12: JKL Dolphins are defeated by UCU Canons in a derby game - 3 days ago
Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: UCU Canons (#1) and JKL Dolphins (#5). JKL Dolphins were smashed at home by 26 points 54-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of JKL Dolphins. Worth to mention a great performance of center Peter Sifuma who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds and Tanzani...   [read more]
