Abel Omomgin (F-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Charging Rhinos and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 21 points and eighteen rebounds, while his team edged out Our Saviour (#7, 7-9) 88-84. Charging Rhinos maintains the 11th position in Ugandan NBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Charging Rhinos have already lost 15 games and recorded just five victories. Omomgin turned to be Charging Rhinos' top player in his first season with the team. Omomgin has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 13.8ppg) and assists (5th best: 3.3apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old forward Amisi Saidi (F-87) of Pemba Warriors. Saidi impressed basketball fans with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Pemba Warriors lost that game 54-77 to the lower-ranked KCC Lions (#10, 6-12). Pemba Warriors managed to keep the same 4th spot in the standings. His team's 9-7 record is not bad at all. Saidi is well-known by Pemba Warriors fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.9ppg (#6). He also registered 7.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Pemba Warriors' star - international forward Stanley Mugerwa (158-F-95). Mugerwa scored 7 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Mugerwa's great performance Pemba Warriors lost 54-77 to the lower-ranked KCC Lions (#10, 6-12). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Pemba Warriors needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 7 lost games. Mugerwa has a great season in Uganda. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.7rpg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Joseph Wacha (G-91) of Our Saviour - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Steven Mwesigye (F) of Our Saviour - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Andrew Gang (G-96) of KCC Lions - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. James Okello (194-PF-90) of City Oilers - 18 points and 8 rebounds
8. Chris Omanye (183-G-94) of KIU Titans - 12 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
